INVITATION BLEED
WHAT IS A BLEED?
Full-bleed printing means that you want your piece to be printed without borders from edge to edge. Bleed is that ink that goes beyond the edge of the paper after we trim it to the final size. By extending the ink beyond the trim, it helps compensate for any mechanical tolerances of the printing process, preventing an unwanted white border from showing at the edge.
If you want a background color or image to print to the edge of your page you will need to design your file with a 1/8" bleed on all 4 sides. As an example, if you want a 5x7 full bleed postcard you will need to send us a 5.25x7.25 file. We also require a 1/8" safety margin on all 4 sides. We recommend uploading high resolution PDF files to ensure the best printing quality. Since we cannot be responsible for files we did not design, we recommend ordering a printed proof. See our FAQ for more details.

Looking to print with white ink on dark paper stocks? We carry a wide selection of paper stocks and can print on any of our white ink dark paper stocks in addition to any of our mat paper options. We also carry 5 foil colors including gold, champagne, rose gold, silver & copper. File requirements for specialty printing are complex and vary by application. Please review your files with one of our designers before ordering.
If you are setting up your own files for foil printing please note that there are some specific file prep guidelines you must follow.
- Foil cannot touch ink: please be sure to leave at least 1/4" of space between ink and foil.
- We can print on both sides of a foil invitation, but only 1 side can have foil on it. We cannot do 2x sided foil.
- If you are ordering a design 100% foiled then all we need is 1 file. If you are ordering partial foil (including foil + ink) then we will need 2 separate files, one with the ink parts of the design and one with the foil parts.
- When designing the foil file please use rich black (CMYK 60, 60, 60, 100) where you want the foil to be placed. The rest of the image should be white.
- we can only do 1 foil color per design.
- Please send us CMYK PDF files where the fonts have been outlined.
ORDERING
There are standard sizes and paper we have in-stock suggested below but custom sizes and special paper stock can be obtained for you. If you select "Other" for any option, please include your request in the "Comments" box. Feel free to upload one or more files that you want printed or images that you have that will give us a sense of the style you'd like our designers to emulate.
