Wonder why? Most envelopes are long and skinny (like your bills). Standard invitations and greeting cards
are typically 5x7 landscape. Since almost all mail is landscape, USPS equipment is designed to rotate envelopes
length wise to read the address. Square envelopes don't have an obvious long side and often have to be
rotated multiple times to read the address, adding to time and complexity for the USPS.
